She was a lady of many talents so in due time she organized a theater group who used the hall for these entertainments. Mrs. Bigelow located and developed real talent in many of our town-folk. Tom (Tucker) Myers and Eldon Moore showed a great deal of natural talent and most usually had leading roles. Tom Moore had the honor in vocal renditions and these plays were splendid and drew large crowds. Mrs. Bigelow eventually left Gardner and moved to Lawrence as she accepted a job from a large company, being the director of these same types of plays. But they really began in Gardner because we had Westminster Hall. 2 From interview of daughter Partricia by grandaughter Karen: Taught recitation lessons and directed community plays and was choir direector - Presbyterian church. Hated Kansas because it was so hot. Had a cousin who lived in California and worked in a studio. But didn't want to work because she had to join a union. She worked in a dress shop. She quit and moved to Laguna Beach and bought a dress shop and a little house. She catered to wealthy people so she put in an expensive line of clothes and developed a good trade. Made enough money to buy house in 3 Arch Bay. Won award as business woman of the year.
