Biography

Birth and Baptism
Ann, the daughter of John Kinghorn and his wife Mary, née Coton, who had been married at York on 11 June 1787,^[1][2] was born at York, Yorkshire, on 21 April 1795 and baptized at the church of St Mary, in Castlegate, York, on 22 April 1795.^[3][4]

1841 Census
The 6 June 1841 census records Ann, a Dress Maker, living at Well Lane, Beverley, Yorkshire, with Harriet Julian.^[5]

Marriage
Ann married widower Thomas Gardener by banns at St John's church, Beverley, Yorkshire on 9 April 1848. Ann was described as a Spinster, aged 59, occupation Dress Maker, resident at Well Lane, daughter of John Kinghorn, a Bookkeeper. Witnesses were Henry Julian and Sabian Julian.^[6][7]

Children
Ann and Thomas did not have any children.

1851 Census
The 30 March 1851 census records Ann living with her husband Thomas, and nieces Harriet Julian and Charlotte Kinghorn, at 5 Sea View, Moor Lane, Bridlington.^[8]

Death and Burial
Ann died at Bridlington Quay on 22 October 1858^[9][10] and buried at Bridlington on 25 October 1858.^[11][12]
