Biography
This 35 year old father of 5 died after 7 days of sudden illness which was thought to be nothing serious, after 5 days it was decided to take him to Iowa City (130 miles) for an operation for appendicitis. He rallied for a few days but then blood poisoning finished him off. According to the local Elgin Echo the trouble started March 11th, final day was March 18, 1908.
Apparently other sources have March 23 as the final date, Perhaps that was the funeral?
