Biography

Dermot Kirby was born about Feb 1787[1] in the rural townland of Rathjordan in the civil parish of Rathjordan. He was the son of James Kirby Sr.[2] and Margaret Shinnors of Rathjordan.[3] Dermot was baptized on 6 Feb 1787 in the Catholic parish of Bruff, with sponsors John Hayes and Mary Shinnors.[1] Bruff was most likely the home parish of his mother, as his parents were married there.
