Obituary copied shamelessly from Findagrave:

It becomes our painful duty to write another obituary. Mrs. Mary Kelton departed this life Feb. 24th , 1878, in the 68th year of age. She was born in the north of Ireland in 1810, moved into Canada in 1822, was married in 182?8 in north V. T.. came west in 1838, first to Eau Galla, than about four months afterwards to Arkansaw. Her illness, though brief, was marked by terrible suffering; yet she bore all without murmur . Jesus, her support through life upheld her in the hour of trial; and, in her own language, had prepared a better home than this and it was all bright there. All who knew Mrs. Kelton in her home life, feel deeply for the mourning ones. No wife more loved and loving, no mother more fondly cherished than she was. As a neighbor few were he equals. Many a young man, when the country was new, who was away from friends, found in her a second mother to council and advise him for the right. The funeral services were conducted by F. H. Hillard. Sermon preached by Rev. G, D. Browne, Rev. C. C. Swartz assisting. The church was crowed to Its utmost capacity, all the sitting and standing room being occupied, and crowds that could not gain entrance lingered in the entry and around the church. The friends of the deceased wish to tender there heartfelt thanks through the columns of your paper to the many friends who have so kindly assisted them in their care for the departed one. To the mourning friends we would say, she is only absent from the body to dwell forever with the lord. SIMPKINS

Mrs. Mary K. Wife of Arden Kelton, departed this life Sunday, Feb 24th, in the 69th year of age. She was an exemplary Christian for many years; loved by all; especially those who knew her best. She has left a large circle of relatives and friends to mourn their loss. They mourn, but not as those without hope; their loss is her eternal gain. Many friends warmly sympathize with the bereaved. May they all follow here example here and be united where all is peace and joy and happiness. ELI. PHANT.
