Elizabeth Elsie Kirkpatrick was born on 8 July 1882 (according to the 1939 Register) and her birth was registered in St Saviour Surrey. [1]
On 16 November 1918, Elizabeth Elsie Kirkpatrick married James Henry Bradford in St Peter's in Staines, and the marriage was registered in Staines in the December quarter. [2].On the marriage certificate, James was described as a Soldier living at 9 Wyatt Road, Staines. His father, Henry Berry Bradford, was also described as a Soldier. Elizabeth was living at 13 Edgell Road, Staines and her father, Robert Kirkpatrick, was deceased however his occupation had been a Civil Servant. [3]
In 1920, Elizabeth and James had a daughter Evelyn Daisy Bradford (abt.1920-).
The marriage was not a happy one and James and Elizabeth eventually separated. Anecdotally Elizabeth would not agree to a divorce and consequently James (known as Harry) was unable to marry his second wife, Irene Hood, until Elizabeth passed away.
Elizabeth died aged 81 in 1963 and her death was registered in Edmonton in the September quarter. [4]
