Maria Catharina Kister was born on 18 Jan 1880 in Walter, Volga, Russia to Johann Heinrich Kister and Katharina Barbara Schiffner. She was a twin. She was baptized on 24 Jan 1880 by the Pastor Dittrich in the schoolhouse, with sponsors Anna Elisabeth Kister and Maria Catharina Kechter.[1]
She married John B. Brethauer in 1902 and they came to America in 1907 and settled near Greeley, Colorado.[2]
Mary Katherine Brethauer passed away at age 86 on 22 Nov 1966 at the Weld County Nursing Home in Greeley, Colorado.[3] She is buried in Linn Grove Cemetery.[4]
