Biography

Plezzie was born on 5 Jan 1862 in Mifflin Township, Pike, Ohio. She married Thomas Jefferson Barton on 18 Sep 1879 in Pike Co., Ohio.^[1] In the 1880 Federal Census, she tells the enumerator that she can neither read nor write.^[2] They had a large family including:^[3][4]

In 1900, Thomas gives his occupation as carpenter and farmer. Up until the 1920 Census, they had always lived in Mifflin Township but by 1920, Plezzie, Thomas, and their two youngest children had moved to Paint, Ohio.^[5] The children moved out by 1930. He and Plezzie remained in Paint, Ohio.^[6][7] Thomas died in 1940, but Plezzie lived until 23 Apr 1951.^[8]
