James was born in 1850. He was the son of Joseph Knevitt 1805–1866 and Mary O'Malley 1818–1893
he married Christina McDonald at Gum Creek South Australia on 5th of February 1876.
Children included:
KNEVETT—McDONALD. —On the 5th Feb-ruary, at the residence of the bride's father, Euna Creek, by the Rev. G. W. Patchell, M.A., James Knevett, to Christina McDonald .[1]
James was charged with Horse stealing in 1876, and charges against him were discharged. his brother was found guilty by confession.[2]
He passed away in 1893.
