Research
William J. Knight served in the Civil War for the Confederacy and was killed in battle at Murphysboro, TN. The date noted on the Ancestry record indicates date of death was 31 Dec 1863, whereas the grave marker indicates he died on 31 Jul 1863. However, there is no actual date on the Ancestry document itself, so further research is needed to confirm date of battle and/or death. [Rauch-1159]
