He married Caroline Engler in Danzig-Westprussia, Berent, Polen 28 Jun 1860[2] and they had two children, Julius Hermann and Bertha Wilhemine Auguste. Sadly, Julius passed away just one month before his 8th birthday. August, Caroline and Bertha immigrated to America sometime before 1885 and settled in Missouri.
In 1914 August (age about 83) was living in Deutschland.[3]
