Kathryn Kuhlman, daughter of Joseph Kuhlman and Emma Walkenhorst was born May 9, 1907 near Concordia, Missouri. At age 14, she had an encounter with Jesus, and followed Him for the rest of her life. As a humble servant of the Lord, she demonstrated His love and compassion and became one of the most well-known healing ministers in the world. She travelled extensively around the United States preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ, helping others encounter His great love. Many attendees of her meetings reported miraculous healings of ailments. This led her to write a book called "I Believe in Miracles" published in 1962. She also had a weekly television series called "I Believe in Miracles" that was broadcast to a national audience in the 1960's and 1970's and produced a 30-minute radio broadcast preaching the gospel.
On October 18, 1938, she married Burroughs Waltrip, the son of a Methodist minister, in Mason City, Iowa. They later divorced in 1947.
She passed away in 1976.
