Lucy Cometina Hyde (née Kurtz; 11 April 1861 – 31 December 1938) was the wife of the first President of Ireland, Douglas Hyde.

Lucy, daughter of Charles Kurtz and Lucy Charlotte, ^[1] was born on the 30th June 1861 ^{[2] [1]} and baptised on the 4th September 1861 in St Peter and St Nicholas, Liverpool, Lancashire. ^[1]

She married Douglas Hyde in 1893 in the West Derby, Lancashire; ^[3] they had two children:

1. Nuala Eibhlín, b.26th August 1894 in Ratra, County Roscommon.
2. Mary Úna, b.19th June 1896 in Stillorglin, County Dublin.

She was recorded in Ratra, County Roscommon, living with her husband, on the 1901 census. ^[4]

She was recorded at 1 Earlsfort Place, Dublin, living with her husband, on the 1911 census. ^[5]

She passed away on the 21th December 1938 in Ratra, County Roscommon ^[6] and was buried in Tibohine Church of Ireland Cemetery, Frenchpark, County Roscommon. ^[7]
