Biography

Siri Jonsdatter was born, roughly estimated, about 1695. Hjørundfjordbka speculates that she could be the daughter of Jon Jetmundsen Kivstad, who had a daughter named Siri listed in his 1695 probate (her age was not mentioned).[1][2]

Siri married Endre Eriksen Aarset. They first lived at Ner-Frøland in Hjørundfjord. From 1747, they lived at Slettedal in Hjørundfjord.[3] Their children were:

  1. Sissel Endresdatter, born about 1720
  2. Brite Endresdatter, born about 1723
  3. Knud Endresen, born about 1724
  4. Guri Endresdatter, born about 1728
  5. Synneve Endresdatter, born about 1729
  6. Alet Endresdatter, born about 1730
  7. Erik Endresen, born in 1734

Siri was buried on 31 Jul 1759.[4] Her age was not mentioned in the burial record.

Her probate dated 7 Aug 1759 names her husband, Endre Erichsen, and five children:[5]

  • Erich Endresen, of age
  • Sicelia Endresdatter, married to Elling Olsen Sættre
  • Brithe Endresdatter, married to Rasmus Simensen Hougen
  • Guri Endresdatter, married to Peder Arnesen Tryggeseth
  • Synneved Endresdatter, aged 30 (guardian: Elling Olsen Sættre)
