Annie was born in 1889, the daughter of Jean Baptiste (John) Laberge and Marie Mélanise Marcoux, who are identified on her marriage record.[1] Although a birth date of 25 March 1891 is cited on her Social Security death record, the 1905 census gives a birth date of 24 March 1889, a date that more closely matches her age on subsequent census data.[2][3]
At some point prior to 1905, Annie began to live with Huldarique Gendron and Alexina Hebert, who list her as their adopted daughter on the 2905 Rhode Island state census and the 1910 US census.[3][4] Annie is also listed as one of two surviving sisters in the obituary of Joseph Oscar Gendron, which can be seen on Oscar's site on FindAGrave.[5]
On 12 February 1912, she married Edward Glode, a mill hand, in Central Falls, Rhode Island.[1] The couple and their children lived next door to the Gendrons until at least 1920, after which they moved to Massachusetts.[6]
Edward was a weaver in a textile mill while, in 1930, Annie's occupation is listed as "postmaster" for the US mail.[7] By 1930, Edward was working as a gardner and Annie as a seamstress.[8] Census data identifies four children of the couple: Florida, Alfred, Ernest, and Arthur.
Widowed in 1977, Annie herself died in 1980.[9][2]
