Biography

When Oliver Joseph Labrie was born on 16 June 1872 in Manteno, Illinois, USA, his father, Joseph, was 27 and his mother, Rosalie, was 23. His large family moved to homestead in Dakota Territory when he was aged 8. He married Mary Louise Klapperich on 7 May 1894. It was a huge double wedding with his brother, conducted by another brother who was a priest. (see attached photo.) Oliver and Mary had two children during their marriage: Oliver Jr and Leona. He died on 3 September 1957 at the age of 85, and was buried in Turton, South Dakota, USA.
