Joseph Lucien Armand was born September 19th 1917, he was the son of Napoléon Lajeunesse, accountant, and his wife Marie Louise Marquis. He was baptized the same day in St-Sauveur-de-Québec. Godparents were his brother Paul Lajeunesse and his sister Cécile Lajeunesse. Both godparents and the father signed the register.[1]
Mon Oncle Lucien, as we called him, was my father's uncle. He entered religious life in 1937 and priesthood 5 years later in 1942. He served as the vicar in Maniwaki, Québec, until he retired in the late 1980's because of ill health. He lived at the Oblats retirement home in Richelieu until his death at age 97 in 2014.[2]
Lucien Lajeunesse died in the retirement home of the religious order of Missionaires Oblats de Marie-Immaculée in Richelieu (Rouville), Québec. He was interred December 27th 2014 in the Cimetière des Pères et des frères Oblats de Marie-Immaculée in Richelieu. [3]. Also see obituary in images.
