Born in Coventry, England to Ernest and Pleasance Lambert, she served with the British Army as W/Sgt. in the A.T.S. Corps as Clerk in Command Office from 1939 to 1945.
Phyllis came to visit her brother in Duncan, BC in 1950 and decided to stay in Canada. She married Jack Douglas in 1952 and they resided in Victoria 38 years, and moved to their beloved “Seaside” in Columbia Beach in 1991.[1]
