Biography

Mary was born about 1832 and baptised with two of her sisters at Barking on 24 April 1836. She was the daughter of William Lambert and Elizabeth Stocking.^[1]

In the 1841 census, she was recorded with her parents and siblings at Barking, Suffolk.^[2]

In the 1851 census, Mary Ann was recorded as a servant in the home of Ann Ward at Barking, Suffolk.^[3]

She married James Denny in 1853.^[4]

In the 1861 census, Mary Ann and James were recorded in a cottage at Ashbocking. James' younger brother, Emanuel and his wife, were in the next household.^[5]

In the 1871 census, Mary Ann and James were recorded with their children at 10 Gosbeck Road, Ashbocking.^[6]

In the 1881 census, Mary Ann and James were again recorded with their children at Ashbocking.^[7]

James died in 1885.

Mary Ann died in 1887.^[8]
