In reply to: Re: Ohio Lampton Jack Lampton 1/18/11 Thank you. I was hoping that another researcher had a copy of that book. Mellissa was born about 1835 in Ohio. Since I find her in Perry County 1850, I am assuming that she was born there also. She married Howell Thomas Williams 1852. The children I find with them/her over various census's is Turner, Joshua Lampton, William, and Viola? Howell fought in the civil war, came home and died very shortly afterwards. Mellissa was single up until 1880 and at that point I lose track of her. I do not know if she finally remarried or died. Viola was born 1865 and would have been conceived while Howell was in the war, so not sure if he is the father or not. Joshua, her father, looks like he had remarried again after the possible death of Mellissa's mother. If I understand this correctly Suzan Long was the mother of Mellissa? I can always invite you to my tree if you want to see in detail what I have on Mellissa's descendants. I am descended through Mellissa's son William.
