James was born in 1845. He passed away in 1912. ^[1]

In 1850, the Lancaster family lived in Jackson, Georgia. The household included John Lancaster, 46, born in North Carolina, a farmer, with $250 in real estate; his wife, Hannah H., 47, born in Georgia; and their eleven children, all born in Georgia: John T., 24, a laborer; Margaret E., 22; Mary F., 18; William R., 16, laborer; Sarah T., 15; Martha J., 13; Noah W., 10; Rebecca, 8, in school; Henry H., 6, in school; James W., 5; and Hannah, 3.^[2]

In 1860, the Lancaster family lived in Randolph, Jackson, Georgia.
