Sarah A S was born about 1853 and Christened in 1853 . Sarah married Alfred Petersen in 1884. Sarah Ann Smallridge Petersen passed away in 1935.

" FIRE AT SOUTH WOODBURN A fire occurred at South Woodburn on Sunday mornng last about 2 o'clock when Mr. Alfred Petersen's cottage was burned to the ground, nothing being saved. Mr. Petersen went away with his family on a visit to Bungawalbyn Creek the previous day, so no one was at home. The next door neighbour; (Mr D Bender) was awakened by the bright Iight coming through his window, when he got up to see what what it was. He found Petersen's place in flames. He at once proceeded to Mr. Alex. Lang's for assistance and then went back and forced the front door open. He found, however, that he could save nothing, and had to clear out on account of the smoke. He got a large piece of carpet and a photo: out of the front room, but could not stay any longer as the smoke and flames nearly smothered him. It was impossible to save anything or quench the fire, as it had too great a hold and soon burnt the building clean away. There is nothing left but the chimney-stock. The house was insured for £200 in the Mercantile Mutual Company. An inquiry into the cause of the .fire was held at Woodburn yesterday, when it was found that there was no evidence, to show how the fire originated."
