Hosea Lanier b. ca 1762 Tyrrell District, N.C. d. before 1810
in Beaufort District, N.C. The 1790 census of Beaufort
showed him with a wife and two females, presumably
daughters. In 1788, possibly when he was twenty-one or
more, his father gave him 640 acres of land which lay
partly in Martin County, and partly in Beaufort County.
No further record, as the early records of Beaufort Co.
are lost.
