Biography

Pierre Lareau was born on March 6, 1833. [1]. He is the son of Benoni Lareau and Marguerite Spooner.

Marriage and Children

In 1861, "Pierre Lareau, age 37", was living with his wife "Odilla Silvestre, age 35" and their children "Alfred, age 17", "Edmond, age 13", "Alphonsine, age 12", "Joseph, age 10", "Charles, age 11", "Marie, age 9", "Malvina, age 9", "Josephine, age "x, age 3" and "Zephirius, age 1". They lived in a wood frame house in Iberville, St-Grégoire, Canada East. [2] [3]

In 1871, "Pierre Lareau , age 49" and "Odile, age 47, were living with their children "Edmond, age 24", "Charles, age 19", Marie, age 17", Malvina, age 16", "Josephine, age 14", "Zephir, age 11", "Ullerith, age 10", "Ludger, age 8", "Joseph, age 6", and "Oscar, age 2". Pierre was a farmer and the family resided in Iberville, St. Grégoire, Quebec, Canada. [4]

In 1881, "P. Benini Loreau, age 59" lived with his wife "Odile, age 55" and their children "Zephir, age 20", "Ullerith, age 18", "Ludger, age 16", "Joseph, age 13", "Leo, age 10" and "Grigoire, age 9" They resided in Iberville, St. Grégoire, Quebec. P. Benini was a farmer, as were all his sons aged 13 and up. Benonie Loreau, age 75, P. Benini's widowed father, is living with the family. [5]

In 1901, "Pierre, age 77" and Odile Lareau, age 74", were living together in St. Grégoire-le-Grand, St. Jean and Iberville, Quebec. They lived in close proximity to their son Grigoire, the adjacent entry on the 1901 Census. The census gives Pierre's birthday as March 6, 1823. [6]

Death and Burial

"Pierre-Benoni-Lareau" passed away on June 22 ,1901, age 78, at Mont-Saint-Grégoire, Monteregie Region, Quebec, Canada. He was buried at Mont Saint Grégoire Cemetery, Mont-Saint-Grégoire, Monteregie Region, Quebec. [7]

Pierre Lareau's wife, Odile Sylvestre Lareau, passed away on October 18 ,1911, age 85, at Mont-Saint-Grégoire, Monteregie Region, Quebec. Odile was also buried at Mont Saint Grégoire Cemetery, Mont-Saint-Grégoire, Monteregie Region, Quebec. [8]
