Biography

Thomas E. Larrison was a figure rooted in the heart of Decatur County, Indiana. Born on Christmas Day, December 25, 1848, in New Point, he was a son to George Washington Larrison and Nancy Agnes McDowell Larrison. His life spanned over eight decades, a period marked by significant changes in the American landscape, witnessing the transition from the post-Civil War era into the early 20th century.

Thomas's life was deeply intertwined with the community of New Point, where he was also laid to rest on January 17, 1929, in Rossburg Cemetery. His life journey is recorded in various documents, including census records from 1880 and a residence listing in 1920 in Newpoint, Decatur, Indiana.

Thomas's personal life was marked by love and loss, as evidenced by his three marriages. His first union was with Amanda Morrison on October 22, 1871. This marriage brought six children into the world: George, Nancy, Mahalia, John, an unknown child, and Rebecca Larrison. Amanda passed away on 16 Apr 1886 (aged 33–34)

His second marriage was to Ruth Jane Hill on August 21, 1886, and passed at age 40, 1912. This union was fruitful, blessing them with numerous children: Elsie, Cora, Joseph Henry, Ella (Melvina) L., Thomas Jefferson, Charles Calvin, Brazier K, Edward "Ed" Randolph, Perry, Jessie, and Carl Rammond Larrison. Notably, Elsie and Cora's birth and death dates are unknown, but they were both born and passed away between 1886 and 1929. Ruth Hill passed away on 11 Mar 1912 (aged 40)

Later in life, Thomas married Charlotte Maple Morton, known as Lottie Morton, in March 1912. She was a widow, having previously been married to Henry Morton. This marriage did not produce any children, but Lottie had children from her previous marriage. Thomas was 68 and Lottie 67

Thomas E. Larrison's life reflects the complexities and joys of rural American life in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. His enduring legacy is not just in the familial bonds he nurtured but also in the deep connections he maintained with his community throughout his life.
