James was born on December 25, 1911 in Springfield Township, Illinois.^[1][2] James was the son of William Vincent Laurinavicius and Jesse Susan Disanskas.^[3][4][2]

James volunteered at the world headquarters of the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society at Brooklyn, New York.^[5][1][6]

In 1952, James married Jessie Pipielec in Brooklyn, New York.^[7]

James died on October 5, 1998 in Warren, Ohio.^[2][8]
