Biography

Genealogically Defined

William Francis was born on the 12th June 1891^[1][2] at Stanwell in the parish of Staines^[3], Middlesex, England and baptised on the 30th August 1891 at St. Mary the Virgin, Stanwell, Middlesex, England, the son of Joseph Lavell (factory man) and Fanny Lavell of New Town, Stanwell^[4] .

On the 12th December 1915 William Francis Lavell married Phoebe Jane Curnick at St. Mildred, Lee, London, England^[5][6].

In 1921, William Francis gave his place of work as the Greenwich Inlaid Linoleum Company at Tunnel Avenue, East Greenwich, and gave his occupation as a packer and trimmer, but unemployed^[3]. He may have been recently made redundant as the business had recently merged with Nairn's of Kirkaldy^[7].

In 1939 William Francis ( a chauffeur) was living at 18 Waite Davies Road, Lewisham, London, with his wife Phoebe and his daughter Rose Florence Lavell (amended to Paterson) (b. 3rd Jan 1917) and other daughter (record closed)^[1].

William Francis Lavell of 18 Waite Davies Road, Lee, London died on the 14th June 1967 and was cremated on the 21st June 1967 at Hither Green, Lewisham Crematorium.^[8].
