Molly Lawson was born in January 1860 in Alabama. In the 1880 census, she was 17-years old, newly married and living with her husband James Ash and her 9-month-old first born child in Pleasant Groove, Panola, MS. [1]. By 1900, she had given birth to 8 children, but only 4 survived[2]. In 1910, she was living on a rented farm in Panola with her husband and two sons[3]. She died in 1957 in Mississippi at the age of 97.[4]
