In the 1911 census, John Lean (35, stone mason b Probus), Cora Ellen Lean (32 b St Marys), and children Meta Violet (11), Cora Elsie (10), Constance Ella (9), Florence Arthur (7), Charles Thomas (4), Philip(a) Margary (3) and Nelson Eric (0), all born St Marys, are resident at 5 Castle Place, Truro St Mary[2]
In 1929 Charles emigrated from Southampton on the "Mauritania", arriving New York 11 October 1929. He was described as 5'6 1/2", light hair, blue eyes, with a final destination of Chicago, Illiinois. His aunt, "Mrs L. Barrett" was in the US[3]
Charles Thomas Lean married Celeste Milencki on 15 May 1945 at Cook, Illiinois[4]
