Biography

Marie Magdelaine was born in 1796, the daughter of Louis Leclerc and Marie Céleste Pelletier. She married at age 31 and passed away in 1864.

On the twenty ninth of May, one thousand eight hundred twenty seven, after the publication of three bans of marriage, done at the sermon of the parish masses, by three Sundays, parallel publication done in the parish of St Roch, as made apparent by the certificate of Mr. Brodeur, priest, pastor of the said parish, dated the twenty eighth of the present month, without having discovered any impediment, between Joseph DesSein, farmer, of the parish of St Roch des Aulnaies, adult son of Jean Marie DesSein called St. Pierre, and Marguerite Belanger, his father and mother, of St Roch, of the first part; and Madeleine Leclerc, domiciled in this parish, adult daughter of Louis Leclerc, farmer, and of Celeste Pelletier, her father and mother, of this parish, of the other part; I, undersigned priest, pastor of this parish, received their mutual consent and the view of the parents [?], gave them the nuptial blessing, in the presence of Jean Marie DesSein called St Pierre, father of the groom, of Louis Leclerc, father of the bride, and of several others, who did not here-under sign. /s/ P.
