Biography

Walter was born in 1873 in Covington, Fountain county, Indiana. He was the son of Henry Lee and Catherine Shepherd.

He was on the census with his parents and siblings in Ross, Vermilion, Illinois in 1880.^[1]

Walter married Rosa Bell Lutz on 29 May 1895 in Jasper county, Indiana. They had three sons.

They were on the census with their two oldest sons in Hanging Grove, Jasper, Indiana in 1900.^[2] They were in Marion in Jasper county in 1910.^[3]

Rosa passed away in 1912. Walter married second to Lillian Murl Baxter on 28 Oct 1914 in Wells, Indiana.^[4] They had one son.

Walter and Lillian were living in Jackson, Newton, Indiana in 1920.^[5] They were in Monon, White, Indiana in 1930.^[6]

He passed away 19 Oct 1947 at his home in Boswell, Benton county, Indiana^[7] and was buried in Weston cemetery in Jasper county, Indiana. ^[8]
