Biography

Jennie Lee, the eldest child of Robert and Annie Lee, was born 15 April 1902 in Martinsburg, Berkeley County, West Virginia.[1] Jennie was likely named in honour of her maternal grandmother, Jennie Bowser.

In 1910 Jennie lived with her parents, Robert and Annie Lee in Martinsburg with her younger sister, Bessie. [2]

In 1920, Jennie and her two sisters, Bessie and Bertha, lived with their parents, Robert and Annie at 315 Conners Street in Martinsburg.[3] Jennie, age 16, worked as a waiter in a hotel.

Sometime around 1924 Jennie married Charles Gasaway and relocated to Ohio. In 1930 they lived at 7214 Montgomery Avenue with their three children, Clara J., age 6, Charles, age 5 and Warren, age 2.[4]

Jennie may have died prior to 1940 when Charles lived in Cleveland, married to Lottie Gasaway, age 29. The family included Charles and Jennie's children, Clara, Charles and Warren.[5]
