Biography
Birth and Christening
Born 27 December 1809, [1], Christened 1 January 1810, Ganton, Yorkshire the son of William Legard & Cecilia. [2]
Army Career
William Baranabas Legard enlisted as an officer in the East India Company Bengal Army and was posted to the 31st Native Infantry. He received a medal with clasps for his role in action during the Second Sikh War of 1848-9.
Marriage
The marriage of William Barnabas Legard & Ann Maria Walker was conducted 11 December 1845 [3] [4]
