Biography

Gaspare Leggio is a Corleone native resident, the son of Francesco lo Liggio and Angela Russo, who married in 1693. He is named after his paternal grandfather.

First marriage, to Maria Scalisi

Gaspare marries at least twice, first to Maria Scalisi, daughter of Paolo Scalisi and Epifania, on 26 April 1739.[1]

Gaspare and Maria have at least two children: Francesco (c. 1741) and Vincenzo (c. 1747).

I estimate Francesco is born within a couple years of his parents' marriage. He is named after his paternal grandfather.

I have estimated Vincenzo is 20 years old (b. 1747) when he marries.

Vincenzo marries Bernarda Grizzaffi on 28 November 1767. His parents are living at this time.[2]

Second marriage, to Antonia Russo

Gaspare remarries to Antonia Russo, daughter of Rosario Russo and Orsola Birtone, on 29 July 1770. This record calls his late mother Angela Cimino.[3]

Gaspare and Antonia have at least two children, Maria (c. 1765) and Angela (c. 1770).

Francesco marries Epifania lo Bello on 28 September 1777.[4]

Maria marries Antonino Vaccaro on 4 September 1785. Gaspare has died by this time.[5]

Angela marries Leoluca Patti on 1 August 1790.[6]
