Biography

Catherine Lemaître was baptized on November 5th 1736 in Rivière-du-Loup, daughter of François Lemaître dit Duhème and of Charlotte Guignar.^[1][2]

It is deemed that she was the woman who married under the name Marguerite Lemaître on 24 October 1757 in Rivière-du-Loup (St-Antoine) with Augustin Harnois, son of Joseph Harnois and of the late Geneviève Arbour.^[3] She is always named Marguerite however, except for one act after her death which named her Angélique.^[4][5]

15 known children from the marriage, of which 6 are known to marry.^[5]

Death
Marguerite Lemaître dite Duaim (sic), wife of Augustin Harnois, died on 23 November 1804 and was buried on the 25th in Rivière-du-Loup (St-Antoine), the record giving her around 68 years of age.^[6]

Note: Rivière-du-Loup will become Louiseville in 1879 only.
