Catharina Lemmen was born In Alkmaar where she was baptised (in the Roman Catholic parish church of St. Dominicus, also known as "Baankerk") on 19 September 1773 [1]. Her parents are Hendrik Lemmen and Jannetje Oploo. Witness at the baptism was Magdalena Oploo *).
In 1793 Catharina married Hendrik Lobach who had moved to Alkmaar from Maastricht.
On 19 April they reported at the local authorities in order to pay the tax on marriages [2]. Not that they had to pay anything: both were rated "onvermogend" (= "impecunious").
They registered their intention to marry with (apparently a different part of) the local authorities on 21 April [3].
According to this document the actual marriage (after the 3 mandatory public announcements) took place on 6 May 1793 at "the chambers of their lordships mayors" **).
On 22 March 1818 Hendrik and Catharina attended the ceremony when their son Josephus married Clasina Capitein.
At the age of 52 Catharina passed away in Alkmaar on 1 February 1826 [4].
Research Notes
*) The source is hard to read. The father's surname surely is "Lemme", as opposed to "Lemmens" as was originally entered in WikiTree (originating from other sources). The mother's surname (and that of the witness) seems to be "Optloo" instead of "Oploo" (as seen in other sources).
In order to avoid unnecessary and unwanted havoc on WikiTree I (i.e. PvM, discoverer of this source), decided to leave "Lemmens" and "Oploo" in place. I.e. until more compelling reasons appear that necessitate changes to their respective "Last Name At Birth" 's. Return to Biography

The site of "Regionaal Archief Alkmaar" (Regional Archives at Alkmaar) also shows the marriage of Hendrik and Trijntje ([5]). In their interpretation "21 April 1793" is the date of the marriage. They have been contacted about the matter and their answer is pending. Return to Biography
