Gladys Aslee Levi Pace, 89, went to be with the Lord on Nov. 11, 2009. She was born in Hendersonville, NC on June 29, 1920. At the time of her death she resided at the Lutheran Home in Salisbury, NC, but before that she was a resident of Hampton, VA, where she was a member of the Memorial Baptist Church. Gladys was a sweet and wonderful wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother, who loved spending time with children and cooking. Known to many as "Granny", she was the grandmother of 14, great-grandmother to three, and a loving aunt to many nieces and nephews. She will be sadly missed by many. Preceded in death by her parents, Robert F. Levi and Louise Queen, and her loving husband of 51 years, John L. Pace. (above bio paraphrased from original obituary)
NOTE: My Aunt Gladys was so special to me. She was one of the sweetest and kindest people I have ever known. I wish I could have spent more time with her before she went to her forever home. Rest in the arms of Jesus in sweet peace, until we meet again, Aunt Gladys.
