Biography
Benjamin Lewis petitioned for and received a land grant in September of 1771. In the petition he stated he had been a resident in the province for some time, and that he had two slaves. He had obtained one hundred fifty acres and requested another fifty acres in the parish of St. George adjoining land of Evan Lewis deceased, and Jacob Lewis, Thomas Ford, and land originally granted Peter Elliot but now property of the petitioner.
