Yancy Lewis is a part of US Black heritage.

Birth - Yancy was born about 1857. He lived in Sumter Co, AL.

Enslavement - Before emancipation Yancy lived on a plantation called The Greenville Place, in Sumter Co, AL. His slave owner was Arthur M. Lewis. When Arthur Lewis died his property was inventoried. Yancy was a year old when he was on that inventory list in 1861.[1]

Emancipation - Yancy may have been included in the 1866 census of the A. M. Lewis Est. in Sumter Co, AL.[2]
