Jessie Columbus Lewis was born February 2, 1882 in Georgia, the son of William Marshall Lewis and Rachel Arrinda Cook.
The 1900 U.S. Census lists Jessie at the age of 18 with his parents and eleven siblings living in Berrien County, Georgia. Living with them are Amanda and Sarah Cook, two of Jessie's aunts. [1]
Jessie died April 10, 1969 and was buried at Poplar Springs Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Nashville, Berrien County, Georgia. [2]
