Sometime in 1937-39 he was discharged from military service because of problems with his heart. This turned out to be completely wrong. Whether it was a fake or not is unclear.
He went to Stockholm around 1942-43 to study at the Stockholm School of Economics.
He met Ruth around 1944. She had travelled from Årjäng when she was 18 to to work at St. Göran's Hospital. They married 19 May 1945 - Pentecost. Björn was born in Stockholm on 16 August 1945.
In 1948 they moved south to Ängelholm and ran a laundry in the basement of a villa on Rönneholmsgatan 18.
In 1950 they moved to Gnesta - Sigtunagatan 18 (later changed name to Fjällgatan which was a more appropriate name as it was the highest street in the municipality. Ingemar worked at a seed company for a few years and around 1953 changed to a company - probably it was called AB Carl Börgesen - which dealt with the import of biscuits/cookies from a number of European countries which were then sold to wholesalers all over Sweden.
The company felt that the location in the small little town of Gnesta was all wrong so it was decided to to move to Skåne and the choice ended up with Helsingborg. The move south took place in early April 1960 The first address became Södergatan 50 and six months later moved to Hantverkargatan 18. The company AB Carl Börgesen was sold to AB Ralton but with exactly the same focus of foodstuffs. This was probably in 1965.
In 1964 Ingemar (and Ruth of course) bought a cottage from Tjörnarp. It was set up on a site owned by a farming couple Elsa and Nils Johansson. The cottage was really inaccessible. They had to drive through three "gates" with fences and the woods around the place were getting worse and worse as Nils Johansson's horses were walking in the forest and gnawed the bark off the trees so they died. It It looked like a bomb went off.
Ingemar bought a 3000 square meter area and the cottage was moved in one piece to the new place. This was in 1975.
In 1973 AB Ralton was sold to a Danish bakery group Karen Volf AS and the name thus became Karen Volf AB. An incredibly strong partner. In 1985, Ingemar retired and his youngest son took over as head of the Sweden division.
Ingemar passed away in 1994 [2] And was burried in Ängelholms Kyrkogård, Ängelholm, Skåne, Sweden.
