Biography

Maria Wilhelmina was born in Skutskär in 1893 as the daughter of Gustav Lindström and his wife Augusta Lindgren[1] She moved with her parents to Lessebo in Hovmantorp parish in Småland in August 1906.[2][3] The girls in the family photo would be, from left to right: Maja, Gerda, Elisabet and Ingeborg.

Maja followed her widowed mother to Algutsboda in 1913.[4]

They lived in the school house in Ubbemåla.[5]

Maja Lindström came to Gotland as a midwife in May 1915. She lived in the vicary in Väskinde parish.[6]

She married Rudolf Johansson 17 December 1916. They lived in Visby and had two children.[7] [8]

Midwife Maria Wilhelmina Johansson, born Lindström, died 7 April 1937.[9]
