Biography

Birth and Early Life

Mary Grace Linscott better known as Midge, was born on 3 December 1914 in Missouri, United States to Melville Roy Linscott and Besse Pearl Scott. She was the fourth of four children.

Siblings

1. Lois Maurine Linscott born 22 October 1906 in Kansas City, Wyandotte, Kansas, United States. She married David West Scrivner before 1935. Lois died in June 1985 in Sedona, Coconino, Arizona, United States.
2. Betty Ruth Linscott born 10 June 1908 in Chanute, Neosho, Kansas, United States. She married Floyd Kerr on 9 December 1933 in Vernon County, Missouri. She died on 22 April 1954 in Los Angeles, Los Angeles, California, United States.
3. Melville Scott Linscott born 18 August 1912 in Kansas City, Jackson, Missouri, United States. Scott married Lorraine L. maiden name unknown about 1943. He died on 24 July 1997 in Topeka, Shawnee, Kansas, United States.

In 1920 Midge was 5, lived with her parents, brother and two sisters in Mission, Kansas and her father was the superintendent of a realty company. They still lived there in 1925 when she was 10 and her father was a superintendent of construction. All of her siblings were still at home in 1925.

They moved to Topeka and lived at 3155 Shadow Lane sometime before April 1930, all of her siblings were at home and her father was a dealer in real estate.[3] By 1934 or 1935 her parents had moved to Los Angeles while she was still at University. She joined them and was living in Los Angeles County with her parents and brother at 1225 Selby Avenue in Los Angeles County in 1940. She gave her occupation as clerk.

Education

She started her college education at Kansas State in about 1933 and then went to the University of Kansas to obtain her degree.

Marriage and Family

Midge married George Wallace Duncan, Jr. on 11 June 1940 in San Diego County, California. ^[1]

4. Patrick Michael Duncan born 25 January 1956 in San Diego County, California, United States.

Interests

Midge was an avid athlete. She played golf and tennis and she followed sports the way most men follow them.

Death and Burial

Her last ten years were difficult ones for her and her loved ones. She was loosing her memory, as many do. She died on Sunday, 18 May 2014 in the early morning at hospice. Midge would have been 100 years old in December 2014. She was buried next to her husband in the El Camino Memorial Park, San Diego, San Diego, California. Find A Grave: Memorial #178097303
