Alexander was named in the will of his father Jonas and was a buyer at the estate sale. In the 1850 census for NC, he is listed as being a farmer, with a wife named Jane.
His marriage to Jane Coleman is based on NC marriage bond dated 15 December 1833.
Alexander's will was written on 18 July 1859 and proved in the August Court 1859 for Iredell County, NC. In the will he names his wife as Sarah. Jane died prior to 1859 and Alexander remarried to Sarah Troutman. Alexander died about four months after marrying Sarah.
Alexander signed his will with his mark.
