James Litchfield, of Scituate, yeoman died intestate and on 28 March 1787, Lawrence Litchfield of Scituate was granted the administration of his estate.[1]
His inventory was taken on 30 March 1787 in Scituate.[2]
In 1793, an account of his estate by Lawrence Litchfield was recorded which included debts received, debts paid, allowance to the widow, provisions for the family, and administration fees.[3]
In 1793, his widow Elizabeth was appointed guardian of his minor children, Priscilla, Seabury, and Hannah, all under the age of 14 years, and Abigail, and Cummins, made the choice of their mother to be their guardians.[4]
In 1793, a second account of his estate by Lawrence Litchfield was recorded which included the sale of real estate, balance from the former account, and administration fees.[5]
In 1793, his estate was set out to his widow, Elizabeth, and his children, Lawrence Litchfield Jr. (eldest son), James Litchfield, Cummings Litchfield, Susanna Bailey, Anna Stone, Elizabeth Litchfield, Abigail Litchfield, Priscilla Litchfield, Sabry Litchfield, and Hannah Litchfield.[6]
