Ethel Lorene Littrell was born 12 Apr 1928 in Pacific, Franklin County, Missouri. She was the daughter of William Milton "Jack" Luttrell and Stella Agnes Thornton. Ironically this is the same year as Mickey Mouse, which she loved to brag that they were the same age. She was the middle child of 7 children and remained close with all her brothers and sisters throughout her whole life.[1]
She married Lawrence Edward Lambeth on 26 Jan 1948 in Eureka, St Louis County, Missouri. They have three children.
Throughout her life she was a member of Eastern Star. She was a Cub Scout Den Mother, and a Bluebirds and Campfire Girls leader. Being active in the elementary school as a PTA member, volunteer in the library, and room mother, she was able to make sure her kids did not act out.[1]
Ethel worked retail at Jones Store, Macy’s, Harzfield’s, and Dillard’s selling high end dresses and shoes. She would not hesitate to tell you if something did not look good on you while shopping (Boy did she like to shop). This is also something she passed on to her daughters, the love of shopping.[1]
Ethel loved to read, travel, garden, going shopping (even if it was just to look), going to the motorcycle races, and attending bluegrass festivals. She had a green thumb and would grow vegetables, plants, and flowers. She called it “playing in the dirt”. If she was frustrated about something, she would go out and pull weeds. As far music goes, her favorite artist was Tom Jones. She also liked to occasionally have a cold beer or a good margarita.[1]
She passed away 1 Feb 2023 in North Kansas City, Clay County, Missouri and was buried 7 Feb 2023 in the Mount Moriah Terrace Park Cemetery, Kansas City, Clay County, Missouri, next to her husband.[1]
