Biography

Luella M. Avery, 86, of Cumberland died Thursday, October 17, 2013 at Cumberland Healthcare-ECU. She was born August 8, 1927 in Barronett, WI to John and Bertha (Rettenmund) Lofblad. Luella worked as a teenager in Chicago during the summers as a companion to Mrs. Graham. She was married in Pine City, MN on December 6, 1946 to Lyman (Mike) Avery who preceded her in death on October 3, 1987. Luella was also preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Edna, Elsie, Norma, Louise, Ann and Mary.

She enjoyed riding her bike until she was unable to, tending to her plants and flowers, doing puzzles, watching detective shows and playing the game Aggravation.

Luella is survived by her son, Michael Avery of Cumberland; daughters, Peggy (Arnie) Krautkremer of Waterville, MN and Susan Avery of Amery; grandchildren, Staci, Jamie (Patrick), Jodi, Sara (Charlie) and Alycia; great grandchildren; Jacob, Matthew (Abby), Breanna, Kaylee, Elena and baby boy on the way; brother, John Lofblad of Rice Lake along with nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, October 19, 2013 at Skinner Funeral Home, Cumberland, WI with Rev. Timothy Schmidt officiating. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery, Cumberland, WI. Pallbearers are Pat Erdman, Jacob LaRonge, Harold Lindeman, Alan Anderson, Matthew LaRonge and Charlie Ciccia. Visitation will be from 9:00-10:00 AM on Saturday at Skinner Funeral Home, Cumberland.
