The Lowenbergers left their Lutheran Austrian farming community of Landestreu and boarded the S.S. Uranus departing Hamburg on May 15, 1891. Georg travelled to Canada with his wife, children and his stepmother, Beata Drumer, who was also his wife Eleanora's mother. They arrived in Canada in 1892 and homesteaded in the Echo area of East Assiniboia (southern Saskatchewan).
Georg and Eleanora had a large family and their farm prospered. Sadly Eleanora passed away in 1898 and Georg then remarried. He and second wife Margaretha Katharina Trapp also had a large family.
Georg passed away in 1924 near Langenburg, Saskatchewan and is buried in Hoffenthal Cemetery.
