Mary was born in 1923. She passed away in 2011.
Mary was born to Howard Roscoe Luckinbill and Dollie Wavelet Brown, she was the 8th child of 12, she was born on Flag Day in the family home in Nebraska . While growing up on the family homestead of 320 acres, she fed animals and herded cows, riding Peaches, a black horse. She and her brothers got their names in the local newspaper for killing 100 rattlesnakes in one day. she moved to Oregon at 18 and saved a fried's dog by killing a bobcat with a big stick (she thought it was just a big, mean cat attacking the dog). Over many years (until she was 74) she worked as a waitress at Harvey's Cafe in Battle Ground, The Holland, The Totem Pole, several Thunderbirds and Red Lions, and The Hood River Inn. She liked playing pinochle, quilting, gardening and watching western movis. She loved her family and would do anything for them. Mary is survived by her daughter, Linda Hoisington Selfridge; her grandsons, Troy Griffith (Teresa) and Scott Hoisington (Sarah); her great-grandchildren, Samantha Griffith and Tyler Griffith; her brother, Rex Luckinbill; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Duane Hoisington; and granddaughter, Gwen Griffith.
