Isabella was born about 1849. She may have been the daughter of Frederick Ludlow and Alison Rodger.
She was a native of Waikouaiti , and claimed to be the first while child raised in the district. [1]
She was raised in the Clutha district; and there in 1869 she married Captain James McDowall. [1]
The family moved to the Oamaru district in 1891. [1]
She passed away 2 March 1938 age 88 at Oamaru. She was buried at Queenstown Cemetery. Of the 13 children, six survived at this time: [1] [2]
Ancestry Profile cites a baptism 9 Dec 1849 in the name "Isabel Ludlow" -- although doesn't give any details such as parents' names, or name of church.
